PROGRESS MADE IN THE EXERCISE OF VLACH MINORITY RIGHTS

Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration, Gordana Stamenic, today met representatives of the Vlach Democratic Party of Serbia. At the meeting, the representatives of the party presented a problem faced by Vlach minority in Eastern Serbia.

Gordana Stamenic said that the Serbian state and the Government were making efforts to provide all national minorities on its territory with equal conditions for the preservation of national identity.

The Vlach Democratic Party of Serbia welcomed the progress that the state had done in respect of broadcasts in Romanian language on RTV Bor and the introduction of the Romanian language with elements of culture in the municipalities of Zajecar and Bor, but also stressed the problem that representatives of the Vlach national minority had with the right to worship in the Romanian language.
