Severance Payments for 1,050 Judiciary Employees - Friday, 25 January 2008

The Ministry of Justice has announced that severance payments had been made to a total of 1,050 employees who had volunteered for termination of employment on the basis of the Action Plan for Resolving the Redundancy Problem with the Aim of Implementing Rationalisation in the Judiciary.

Following successfully completed negotiations with representatives of the Union of Employees in the Judiciary of Serbia and the Union of Organisations of the Judiciary of the Republic of Serbia, the Action Plan  was adopted by the Government on 30 November 2007.

The voluntary severance deadline is 31 January 2008.

Based on the effects realised from the implementation of the voluntary downsizing programme, employees of the judiciary will be paid incentives according to criteria proposed by representatives of both unions.
